I was so excited and my kids even more so. We heard that "Green Day" was visiting. We went to the tavern where they were hanging out late one night. My daughter wanted one of her cd's autographed and maybe a photo. The others were hoping for a signature on their posters and maybe a photo...
no such luck, the bodygaurds wouldn't even let my 13 year old girl ask...
oh well, it was nice to see them hanging out and enjoying our island...
is there a time or a place to ask famous people for their autographs or a photo?

Re: a brush fame
Thu, June 23, 2005 - 12:29 PMHmm. I've never felt there was an appropriate time to interrupt someone. I guess the only times I feel okay about it is if it's a photo shoot or some publicity event. Otherwise, they're just people being people and you normally wouldn't interrupt some doing regular stuff.
But that's just me. -

Re: a brush with fame
Fri, June 24, 2005 - 11:31 PMthank you, the excitement of seeing them there or rather here on Santorini just got the best of me, you are right, and the bodygaurd was right to stop us, i guess I really wouldn't like it if I was hanging out late with my friends and someone came over and asked me to sign something and started camera flashing in my face, thanks for sorting me out, it was just so cool to see them there and I lost my head... -

Re: a brush with fame
Sun, June 26, 2005 - 7:29 PMI'd want to do the exact same thing as you. I mean if I saw a celebrity I would totally want to run up to them and stuff. But thanks to my shy nature, I never do that. And I'm ruled by my brain. And being courteous is always in my mind when it comes to celebs. -

Re: a brush with fame
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 2:12 PMThere were about 8 other people in the tavern, if it had been crowded, I would haven't even considered approaching them but since there were so few people, I figured they might be able to spare us a moment or two but it is ok, we are going to ask the owner of the tavern for a photo or two of the ones he took...wish us luck and maybe I will get to post one here... -
